Route of Portuguese Cafés With History

The Cafés mark the identity of their locations, not only because they occupy a central place in public life, but also because they are a convivial space, a meeting point, where besides being places where you can drink a coffee they can also be places where you can hold soirées and debates.
The aim of the Route is to promote a tourist circuit which disseminates historical and cultural places, encouraging the provision of differentiated products which are so characteristic of the experiences of each location. May this Route be encouraging, driving and motivating so that we set off to discover the beauty of the most diverse regions, locations, cafés and individuals, and the history and culture of our wonderful country.
The Cafés with History should become key establishments in their areas of influence, showing a new life to ancient spaces, but preserving and affirming their own identity, their experiences, their traditions and their historic memories. They are often the “Soul of Downtown” or the “Soul of a City” so they also value their tradition, due to their charisma and the example of their economic activity longevity.
They should awaken in individuals who visit them (tourists, daily customers, friends, …) singular and distinctive experiences, valuing this and so creating new memories and traditions for future generations. Step-by-step, we are (re)inventing, (re)creating our very own tradition, making this sector more dynamic, more creative, more competitive, capable of being a quality tourist offer.
